Phoenix Rising

We find ourselves in a twilight zone of sorts, the world as we knew it has changed drastically. I took a walk today among the deserted streets of my neighborhood and realized that things are not as they seem. Birds were chirping the sweetest song, the sun was highlighting the yellow daffodils, and the air held a fresh exuberance that made me breathe a bit deeper. In awe of nature, I stood strong but lighthearted. I caught myself smiling from a different place, and there was no fear.

Yes, we cannot resume running about as usual meeting deadlines, fighting rush hour traffic, and hoping we make it to work on time. I'm not sure about you, but these are things I don't miss. Sure, the extrovert in me would love to enjoy brunch with friends or spend a day at the museum or zoo with my family, but that's coming soon. This neighborhood walk revealed that the slow down was something I needed in order to have clear vision of why I am here; to become a higher version of myself and to raise the consciousness of the planet.

Like myself, many of us were on hamster wheels feeling like our daily deeds would fulfill the holes in our hearts. Enough of that, the Most High declared it was time to heal. The surface healing just won't cut it, a deep energetic surgery of this existence was in order. Healing is not pretty, it requires loss and grit and periods of excruciating discomfort. Yet, on the other side is a gift of peace and abundant love. The clarity that was needed for our collective healing required silence, stillness, and patience. We needed to learn how to just BE, and find how our being can harmonize with and ultimately heal our world.

No matter what theories exist, what's happening is real because we perceive it as so. We are experiencing real loss, sickness, grief, fear and downright terror. When the madness began, I kept writing in my journal- "After this passes, (and this too shall pass) who will you be? Will you fall back into your comfortable normalcy or will you emerge evolved, exalted?"

The legend of the phoenix lends insight to what is possible for all of us in these times. It represents transformation, death, and rebirth in its fire. As a powerful spiritual totem, the phoenix is the ultimate symbol of strength and renewal. As both a fire and solar symbol, the phoenix is symbolic of the sun, which “dies” in setting each night only to be reborn in rising the next morning. I see this "fire" we are currently in as an opportunity for deep transformation and spiritual evolution of humankind. We can exist differently, in an improved state of being that is benevolent for each other and our Earth. We can and will be better because we must.

I hope we choose to allow this time to unearth the beauty that we all hold. I wish for a restoration of balance and the lightening of hearts. For a transformation of spirit, and a grand rising for us all.

After this passes, who will you be?
